Also you get a tractor or sleigh ride out to the field and hot chocolate & cookies when you get back by the fire. We also made an outing of it!!
I wanted to mention that buying a farm grown tree is also great for the environment as a growing tree uses 3 times as much CO2 as a full grown tree. So cutting down farmed, new trees year after year is good for the planet.
Have a great Christmas my friend!!
Dave :o)David Cookhttp://www.cooksincanada.canoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8499737653639554225.post-55540118491699809882009-10-09T13:19:57.834-04:002009-10-09T13:19:57.834-04:00Hey, Leanora! We were surprised to see a couple of pairs of fancy pedigree dogs walking through the lobby. I assumed you would have to have special approval based on pedigree/good citizenship rating. Kirk commented that we could have brought our dog. I thought our mixed breed rescue pup would not qualify! Obviously I underestimated the hospitality of Keswick. Still not sure if I'm taking our dog. She gets daily pampering. It's at the very tip of the ES on the seaside, right across from SouthEast Expeditions at Sunset Beach.

About 10 of us, including some new friends who are volunteers living in the refuge this summer, paddled through the saltmarsh out to an island beach to watch the sunset. Then we went to friends for a backyard fire and delicious snacks. Life is good.

If you'd like to join the club, go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/evokeyourboat/?yguid=290395412Mary and Bill Burnhamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15995072050567587910noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8499737653639554225.post-15570773859392136672009-03-23T22:18:00.000-04:002009-03-23T22:18:00.000-04:00This was a new expedition for all those involved! ...This was a new expedition for all those involved! To cap off the almost one year handcrafting of the wine we give in to an almost robotic machine to ensure the fruits (wine) of our labor are safely sealed in bottle. The results are positive!: The Sunset Rose' was just awarded Silver and Bronze medals in the Lodi Int'l Wine awards in Lodi Ca. Our High Tide Traminette was a TriMedal winner taking two Golds and a Silver! Check out the competition at www.lodiwineawards.com. Here's a line that jumped out at me from early in the book:
"The mathematicians reckon that spring begins March 21, but the mathematicians are a month behind the season the year around. For those who observe the first signs, spring comes earlier than others know."
Here on the Eastern Shore, signs of spring abound. Daffodils are poking green shoots up from the ground. A pileated woodpecker noses around the base of our big pecan tree. The maple trees, viewed from afar, bear the blush of their red blossoms.
The temperature may be low and unceasing, but these are things that give me hope for warmer days and a new season of life.Bill Burnhamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14517203851901061631noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8499737653639554225.post-11972081945783233052009-02-16T20:49:00.000-05:002009-02-16T20:49:00.000-05:00They were Seaside oysters from the Chincoteague ar...They were Seaside oysters from the Chincoteague area.
